A lot of events take place in October: Summer ends and Fall begins, time changes and it gets darker earlier. The month of October is the month of spook and fright, pumpkins and candy, costumes and screams, Haunted houses and festivals. But the main event is Halloween. Halloween is the scariest day of the year. Most people celebrate it but some don’t. Arash Gill, Dacia Zavala, Ali Aziz, and Kiana Hayes all celebrate and look forward to Halloween.
Out of the 4 Ali is the only one that plans on going trick-or-treating. Arash said that he only goes to take his brother trick-or- treating because he believes he is “too old to trick-or-treat”. Kiana says she will attend a church function while Dacia will attend Freight Fest at Six Flags. Ali likes trick-or-treating because “I get lots of candy, my favorite is a Kit-Kat.”, He said Unlike Arash, Ali does not do the same thing every year. Ali goes to different places and does different things. Ali really looks forward to Halloween because he says “It’s a spooky day for any age.”
Arash usually hands out candy and then takes his brother out to trick-or-treat. Arash does not dress up anymore because again he feels he’s “too old”. But his brother will dress up as a Transformer this year. Arash says he kind of looks forward to Halloween, and that he likes to eat Reese’s. Dacia doesn’t do the same thing each year either, she usually trick-or-treats but this year she’s not because she says “it gets boring.” She’s not really sure if she will dress up this year, but if she does she wants to dress up as Harry Potter. Dacia says she loves Halloween because of “the theme, getting candy, and being scared.” Like Arash she likes the candy Reese’s. Kiana does not do the same thing either. Last year she attended a Halloween festival but not this year, this year she wants to bake treats and go to church. She hasn’t decided if she will dress up, but if she does she wants to dress up as Nicki Minaj. She looks forward to Halloween because she says its “Fun and you get candy and candy is good.” Out of all the candy she gets, she likes Snickers the most.
Halloween is a fun and scary holiday, Different people do different things. Some trick-or-treat, some give out candy, some attend church functions, go to festivals, haunted houses, and amusement parks, and etc... Some dress up and some do not, but in the end most people enjoy Halloween.
