The Thing Review

Based on the book “Who Goes There”, “The Thing” brought fear into your eyes and left you on the edge of your seat. Its release date was on October 14, 2011.Due to bloody and graphic scenes it’s a rated “R” movie so make sure you are allowed to go see the movie.

This is the 2nd version of the movie. The 1st version came out in 1982 and it was also called The Thing. The films budget cost 38million dollars.

Director Matthijs van Heijningenjr and writers Eric Heisserer, and Donald D. Moore based the movie on Antarctica were a team of scientists found a remarkable discovery. The main actor was Mary Elizabeth Winstead who played as an anthropologist who would eventually save the day. They found an extra terrestrial being. Having thought they made a discovery that put their names in history, they were sadly mistaken. The alien would prey on the humans by taking their physical body appearance and act like the owner of the body only to take over another victim.

The acting overall was a “B-“which is good but on some scenes the acting seemed very vague. The ending of the film was a big bummer and the people who got infected started to confuse you on who was who. Overall though it was a solid and the plot was well thought out. I do recommend watching this film as long as you don’t have weak stomach.
