Raps better than rock, but that’s just my opinion, Valon Ahmeti’s opinion, and Chris Coby’s opinion. Lyrically, we would have to say rap is better because a lot of rap songs have a deep meaning. Rock songs most of the time don’t really make sense. Not all rap songs are about money and women. For example most of Tupac Shakur’s songs were about life and everyday situations.
Rap has changed so much in the past decade. Before, rap had a meaning, and rappers were actually good. These days, most raps have no meaning to it. Artists record whatever sounds good to them even if it doesn’t make sense. Lyrics don’t make sense in half of the rap songs out right now. If you want to find good rap you’re going to have to look for it.
The flows in rap have changed a lot also. Some songs that lack lyrics make up for it with the beat. In rap a beat can do many things. At least Valon and I think so. A beat can make or break a song. If you listen to rock, almost every song has the same beat. Every rap song has a unique and different beat. The beat depends on the type of song.
Rap is an emotion being expressed in my opinion. I wouldn’t listen to anything else. You can relate yourself to a lot of rap songs. There’s so many styles of rap that you will find on you love. Once you listen to rap you can’t really stop listening because now you’ve heard real music.
