One week ago, HSI had food drive which was sponsored by student council. This was a drive which the students of HSI donated non-perishable food to help the North Texas Food Bank. The North Texas Food Bank is a non-profitable organization that collects food from other donors. The food bank then will collect all food and distribute it to the poor and needy.
This drive lasted for one week and student council was able to collect a little over 600 canned and other non- perishable foods. This food drive was also a competition in which K-A (kindergarten) won the competition. “The food drive was a success,” said Jae, the student council president “we were able to collect more than our original goal!”
Student Council would like to thank the all student who participated in the food drive. This was a very successful food drive thanks to the students who participated. Student council hope that next year will be better than this year.
