The 2011 – 2012 harmony girls high school volleyball team has played with a tremendous effort all season long. The team thinks they have the best spirit out of all of the teams in their division.
This is the first year HSI Carrollton supports a high school girls volleyball team and for their first year of play, they don’t disappoint. At first the team started out slow losing a couple of games, but once they got comfortable with the coaching scheme anyone could see the change in mentality that the team now played with. “From my point of view the team is having a successful season.” Now of course they would like to improve in a few areas but any team would like to improve.
Since the team is new this year, the team chemistry at times can be a little off. It gets difficult to cooperate with your teammates at times, but it’s rare for any of our volleyball team members to have problems with each other. Also the team does not have a best player because volleyball is not a one person game; it takes a team to reach to victory. Our team understands that concept very well. They win as a team and they lose as a team.
Each week the team comes prepared to their games mentally and physically. Kiana Hayes, a player on the team, says, “After a loss the team is disappointed but the team does not let the loss get to them.” After every game the team is already focused on their next opponent.
Overall, the girl’s high school volleyball team has shown a lot of potential and is poised for big things next year.
