DISTCO 2012

DISTCO, Digital Storytelling Contest, is having there forth contest this year, and they’re inviting k-12 and teachers to participate in this year’s contest.  The contest is about whom can tell and write the best story. There’re fourteen categories in which participants can enter. These categories are Art Cultures/Religions, Computer/Technology, English Language Arts, ESL/Foreign Languages, Health/Medical Mathematics, Music, Personal Stories/Personal Reflections, Places/Travel, Physical Education/Sports, Pop Culture, Science, and Social Studies.

The rules to this contest are easy and understandable. Team projects aren’t allowed, the story has to be original, Images and sound, and a narration, preferably a voice over by the author. The Video file size should not exceed 10 MB. Video lengths should not be more than 6 minutes, and your video display size should not be less than (640.480). Digital stories are recommended to be made with PhotoStory 3.

 The DISTCO website, http://www.distco.org/, will be accepting Registrations and Digital Story Submissions between November 28, 2011 and January 27, 2012. In order to be eligible for extended digital story submission deadline on February 24, 2012, participants need to complete the first step by January 27, 2012 deadline. Judging for DISTCO 2012 projects will take place between March 1, 2012 and April 15, 2012.Winners of the DISTCO 2012 will be announced through the official website on or after May 1, 2012, and please remember digital stories should be original work and not to be copied from any other person or person’s work.
