Valon and Arash, fellow Harmony football players, have a friendship on the Harmony field but a fued on the professional football field. Here are their thoughts on the game from last Sunday.
A Giant Fan's Perspective
The giants rolled into Lincoln Financial Field Losing six straight games to the Eagles in the past seasons. This year’s giant team is full of injuries and just lost Mario Manningham a key offensive player last week to a concussion. During the offseason a lot of trash talk was exchanged between the two teams. The giants were favored to lose by three points. But the game’s outcome was the exact opposite. The giants came out hot scoring on a 40 yard touchdown pass thrown by Eli Manning to Brandon Jacobs. Manning had a great game overall throwing for 254 yard and four touchdowns. He had no interceptions. Manning’s games came as a surprise because he has been known to turn the ball over a lot, but he torched the eagle’s prized secondary. Victor Cruz had a breakout game catching three passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns. This offseason the Eagles were an all hype team signing the biggest players available in free agency, but so far it’s not paying off because they are at the bottom of the division with the giants sitting at the top. The giant’s defense wasn’t playing like they should have been the past two weeks giving up almost 600 yards. But they were a different defense against the eagles. The giant’s defense stopped the eagle’s offense for a total of 16 points. They also had a key stop on fourth down to get the ball back to the giants. This was a grudge match between the two teams. Overall the eagles had one of their worst games of the past two seasons. The eagles could not get anything going against the giant defense in the 2nd half. Nothing Worked. Overall the giants won the game 29 to 16.

An Eagles Fan's Perspective
All the eagle fans out there we should be angry and disappointed. We had numerous mistakes and missed opportunities. Eagles have been torching the Giants lately, winning six straight including last year’s “Miracle at the Meadow lands number 2” when the Eagles came back by 21 points with only 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter and when Desean “ Fraction” Jackson( my favorite player) won the game with a punt return touchdown. Prior to this game there was trash talking between Giants free safety Antrelle Role and Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.
The Eagles started of slow allowing the crippled Giants go up 13-0. Then Lesean “Shady” Mcoy started to juke out every player on the giants and scored a remarkably touchdown. The 1st half ended in a good note for the Eagles scoring 10 straight unanswered points. They came into the 2 with momentum only to be smashed. The Giants came out sharp. They played solid defense and made a touchdown to take the lead.
During the 4th quarter Mike Vick left to the locker room due to a right hand injury. In came unexpiernced QB Mike Kafka. He choked and threw a interception. Mike Vick briefly came back but could not continue due to his injury. Mike Kafka came back again and we would eventually loss when Mike Kafka threw his 2nd interception to the same player Aaron Ross.
Even though the Eagles lost we will meet again this year and we will win.
