Pit-Bulls Vs. Rottweilers

                Rottweiler

Pit-bulls and Rottweilers are beautiful, strong and muscular dogs.

Pit-bulls were developed in the U.S. as a guard, cattle catcher, live stock driver, and companion. But, they are mainly used for “Pit-bull Fighting” which an illegal      practice. These dogs are often ten crossbred to produce winning fighters. They are medium sized, solid, muscular, deep chested and hindquarters are muscular. Its tail is medium length. They are longer than they are taller; the coat is short and smooth and can be any color. Their heads are wedged shaped. Muzzles are broad and deep (shorter than length of skull), noses are large and black. Their eyes are medium sized and also can be any color. Their ears can be any way but mainly floppy or cropped (cut). The height of an average Pit-bull is 18-22 inches and the average weight is 35-60 lbs. They need exercise, positive training, jobs and activities and socialization. Their tempers are strong, confident, stoic, and fun loving with people, especially children. The activity level is “high”. Some concerns are allergies, cataracts and hip dysphasia. The symbol for Pit-bulls is strength and independence.

Rottweiler’s came from the origin of Germany. They were developed as an “all purpose” working dog in the town of Rottweil. They are descendants of Roman cattle dogs; used as military dogs, police dogs, guards and companions. They are larger than they are taller. They have a broad head, short broad muzzles, short dropped ears, almond shaped eyes, black noses and the tails are dock shaped. Their coats are beautiful, short, smooth and black with rust or mahogany markings. The average height for a Rottweiler is 22-27 inches and the average weight is 75-130 lbs. Their tempers are calm, courageous, and hard working with. They are wary with strangers but loving with family. Their activity levels are “moderate”. They need socialization and training. Some concerns are hip and elbow dysphasia, kidney problems, and neurological disorders. Rottweilers are about the same to pit-bulls, but their personalities are slightly different.

I’ve asked 10 people including myself which breed is better? So, which breed is better?
Kiana(10) says Rottweiler because they are pretty and protective. Eddie (9) says Pit0bulol because they are pretty and protective. Arash (10) says Rottweiler. Miranda (9) says Pit-bull. Chris (9) says Rottweiler. Sha’Kaela (10) says Pit-bull. Saadman (9) says Rottweiler. Valon (10) says Rottweiler. Ms. Eames said Rottweiler. And me, of course I said Pit-bull because I own one myself and they are very pretty and protective and fun and loving.  Pit-bulls – 4 ~ Rottweilers – 6. As you can see, Rottweilers are better than Pit-bulls “to some people”.
