Prep, Not the Average Girly Novel

The book Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld, tells the story of Lee Fiora and her teenage years at Ault, an elite boarding school outside of Boston. Lee's main problem throughout the story is struggling with her insecurities. She can't stop thinking she's weird long enough to develop friendships with people.

These insecurities reach a boiling point during her senior year. She confides all her issues about attending boarding school to a New York Times reporter. The reporter then exploits this information and renders Lee an outcast her final days at Ault.

Unlike the traditional fiction novel, Prep did not have one main problem-solution concept. Instead, the book went through the many events of her highschool life. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. In one hand, you get a full sense of her highschool experience. In the other, the book becomes very boring.
