Dolphin Tale Review

A movie that got released September 23 2011, rated PG. The story of an inspiring dolphin called Winter.

A young boy named Sawyer (Nathan Gamble) isn’t really the talkative type and has a hard time making friends ever since his cousin left for the army. On his way to summer school, he encounters something that would change his life forever. He encounters a trapped dolphin named Winter, who he helps, and from there a great friendship is born. Winter (Winter), due to the circulation problems, has her tail cut off. The thing is dolphins can’t swim without their tails and if they don’t swim they die. Oh how Winter proves everyone wrong. She could swim sideways but that was negatively affecting her. This is where Dr. McCarthy (Morgan Freeman) comes in; he makes body parts for humans that are disabled. Having a dolphin as his patient was a surprise, but that doesn’t stop him. Follow Sawyer and Winter’s inspiring story as they prove that “just because it’s ripped doesn’t mean it’s broken” can actually be true.

In my opinion, this movie deserves more than just 3 or 4 stars. It showed the viewers, that even in the toughest situations, we can get through them and be able to smile again. Winter and Sawyer’s love is like no other, how I would love to have a friendship like them. In the inspiring story of Winter, I couldn’t help but cry.
